The main production process of air hammer forging grinding balls is as follows: after passing the inspection, the round steel is cut according to the size of the steel ball; the steel forgings are heated to a certain temperature through an intermediate frequency furnace to ensure that type variables are effectively generated in the forgings. The red hot steel forgings are fed into the air hammer and handled by a skilled operator. The forged red hot steel balls immediately enter the quenching and tempering heat treatment equipment specially designed by our company, and the produced grinding balls can obtain higher hardness values.
Forged steel balls can be divided into: 45# steel forged steel balls, 60Mn forged steel balls, 65Mn forged steel balls, 40Cr forged steel balls, 42CrMo forged steel balls, B2 forged steel balls, B3 forged steel balls, B6 forged steel balls, with carbon content of 0.4-0.85, manganese content of 0.5-1.2, and chromium content of 0.05-1.2. It can be produced by two methods: air hammer forging and hot rolling. Mainly used in non-ferrous metal ore dressing, power plants, potassium, sodium feldspar mining, etc. Our company's 25mm-60mm forged steel balls are rolled by an automatic hot rolling mill, while 80mm-150mm is forged by an air hammer. . There are some advantages and disadvantages in air hammer forging and hot rolling production.

As far as the current wear-resistant grinding ball market is concerned, forged grinding balls are usually used for grinding in wet grinding applications of foreign metal ores, including Rio Tinto, BHP, Vale, South African gold mine, Chile copper mine, etc. They are all made of high-carbon manganese alloy. In the domestic market, cast grinding balls are currently widely used, but the market for forged steel balls is growing year by year. China Minmetals, Zijin Mining, China Gold, Taigang and Jiugang are also using forged steel balls. At present, it has been proved that due to the high crushing rate of chrome casting balls in semi-automatic mills, forged steel balls must be used.
The obvious advantages of forged grinding balls are smooth surfaces, high impact toughness, much lower crushing rate than chromium cast balls, and much lower price than high chromium steel balls. However, the wear resistance of forged grinding balls is comparable to that of high chrome cast balls. In large mines, forged grinding balls are much more cost-effective than high-chromium cast balls. Customers can choose based on the price, quality standards and lightning protection applications of the steel ball.
Product Features
1. The damage rate is less than 0.5%,
2. High impact toughness: The impact toughness is greater than 18J/cm2, and the 8-meter drop ball test is greater than 20,000 times.
3. High total hardness: surface hardness 58-65hrc, volume hardness 56-63hrc, average hardness gradient distribution.
4. Undeformed: The steel ball is always undeformed or round.
5. Compact structure, high cost performance and obvious cost savings.
